Alexandria is the second capital of Egypt and was formerly its capital. It is the capital of Alexandria Governorate and its largest city. Located on the Mediterranean coast, Alexandria stretches about 55 kilometers northwest of the Nile Delta, covering an area of 2,523 square kilometers.
