Ha'il lies between latitudes 25° and 29° north and longitudes 38° and 42° east, and is surrounded by five administrative regions: Al-Jawf, Northern Borders, Tabuk, Medina, and Qassim. Its area is approximately 128,588 km², equivalent to 6% of the Kingdom's total area. Its population is estimated at approximately 732,000.
